Intersolar 2021: Viessmann presents innovative energy solutions for electricity, heat and mobility

Online event with a virtual trade fair tour from July 21 to 23, 2021 | Innovative hybrid electricity storage system for efficient storage of self-generated power | New Viessmann Energy Management for optimal system operation | Special focus topics on July 21, 2021

Viessmann has introduced a vacuum tube collector in the Vitosol 200-T (type SPX). It can quickly make large collector systems a reality for applications in local and district heating networks as well as for generating industrial process heat.

Allendorf (Eder),  Jul 15, 2021 – When it comes to pioneering and sustainable energy systems, electricity, heat and mobility are inextricably linked. From July 21 to 23, 2021, Viessmann will be presenting related innovations from its Integrated Solutions portfolio – ranging from power generation and storage through to consumption, including an integrated Energy Management System.

Due to the pandemic, Viessmann will be hosting its presentations as digital events within the scope of “The smarter E Industry Days.” At four individual events, visitors will be able to take part in virtual tours of the trade fair, in presentations of new products and in an expert panel. The 90-minute events will take place at the following dates and times:

  • Wednesday, 7/21/2021, 9:00 a.m.
  • Wednesday, 7/21/2021, 4:30 p.m.
  • Thursday; 7/22/2021, 4:30 p.m.
  • Friday, 7/23/2021, 9:00 a.m.

Interested parties can gain access at:  https://www.thesmartere.de/fuer-besucher/industry-days.

In addition to the virtual tour of the trade fair, during which questions can also be posed to the experts using a chat function, visitors will receive detailed information subjects such as the new Vitocharge VX3 electricity storage system and the new integrated Viessmann Energy Management.

The innovative Vitocharge hybrid electricity storage system: modular, compact and versatile

The Vitocharge VX3 hybrid electricity storage system complements photovoltaic systems, power-generating heating systems and solar-powered heat pumps. Inverters and up to three battery units are combined in a single device. It can be deployed as a hybrid power storage system with an integrated photovoltaic inverter. It can also be used as an AC-coupled electrical storage system to retrofit an existing photovoltaic system or purely as an inverter in case of subsequent battery retrofit.

The inverter is now available in three power classes – 4.6 kW, 1-phase, and 6 and 8 kW, 3-phase – always in the same design and with the same installation space. This means that even more extensive PV systems with up to 12 kWp can now be connected directly to Vitocharge VX3, and that a separate PV inverter is a thing of the past for combined installations in single- and two-family homes.

The hybrid electricity storage system can be conveniently controlled using the energy management features of the ViCare app. In this way it is possible to visualize the energy flows of Vitocharge VX3 and other system components of the overall system while also optimizing the mode of operation.

Viessmann Energy Management for efficient operation of all components

Conserving resources and saving costs through energy-efficient, optimized operation of all electrical and thermal-electrical energy systems in the home – that is what sets apart the new Viessmann Energy Management system, which is optionally integrated into the electronics platform of the new Viessmann energy systems. The Viessmann Energy Management displays energy flows in the building in real time on a smartphone or tablet This includes, among other things, values of self-generated electricity from the photovoltaic system, as well as self-consumed electricity, for example, for the operation of the heat pump. In particular, Energy Management provides these features for the Vitocharge VX3 electricity storage system, for the heat pumps of the new Vitocal 25x-A series, and retroactively for the heat pumps in existing buildings with Vitoconnect retroactively until 2016.

Starting at the end of 2021, the new Viessmann Energy Management will enable the charging of e-cars to also be optimized based on weather data, the status of the vehicle battery, the current photovoltaic power generation and according to user preferences. In the process, users will be able to choose whether to use only self-generated electricity from the photovoltaic system or the power-generating heating system, or also to use energy from the power grid to charge their cars.

Six cents per kilowatt hour with the  ViShare Pro Tariff for electricity

In the ViShare Energy Community, the generation and storage of solar power finally exhibit their full potential. ViShare members generate their own green electricity by using one of Viessmann’s photovoltaic systems, for example. Surplus electricity is channeled either into the electricity storage system to be used later on or into the community for other members to benefit from. Conversely, if the power you are generating yourself is not sufficient, you can tap into the community’s green energy. The contractual partner for the ViShare rates is Energy Market Solutions GmbH.

ViShare is also the efficient solution for customers who want to continue to operate photovoltaic systems in a cost-effective manner and with the legal security they need even after the subsidies expire for their systems. For thousands of operators of these systems, 2021 will mark the end of an era: the 20-year-old subsidy provided under the German Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG) is set to expire, as are the currently attractive feed-in rates for electricity generated by the operators themselves. Viessmann’s Integrated Solution Offering provides the best conditions for continued operation – through the Vitocharge VX3 modular electricity storage system, for example – and with ViShare’s cost-effective electricity rates. With the ViShare Pro Tariff for electricity, operators receive six cents for each kilowatt hour that they feed into the grid this year.

Special focus topics on July 21

The Viessmann online event to be held at 4:30 p.m. on July 21 will also offer all interested parties a TechTalk on “Heating with electricity – when does it make sense?” How can I use electricity to inexpensively heat my home? What is the best electric heating system? How much power is consumed by electrical heating? What costs are associated with it? And does the operation of such a heating system have any future at all? Visitors will be provided with answers to these and other crucial questions relating to all aspects of “heating with electricity.”

Viessmann then extends an invitation to all of the event participants in regard to another topic: implementation of large-scale solar thermal systems with the new vacuum tube collector Vitosol 200-T, type SPX. When compared to small individual systems, large-scale solar thermal systems can score points in terms of both profitability and sustainability. Together with a partner network, Viessmann offers complete turnkey solutions for public utilities, planners and businesses in the residential housing sector.
