New ground source heat pump from Viessmann: Vitocal 300-G intelligent energy (ie) with natural refrigerant R290 and One Base Intelligence

Allendorf (Eder), Germany, November 2, 2026 – Viessmann Climate Solutions is expanding its portfolio of intelligent energy solutions with the new Vitocal 300-G intelligent energy (ie) for indoor installation. The ground source heat pump uses the natural refrigerant R290 (propane). An active safety system integrated as standard ensures safe operation across all output sizes. The heat pump is designed for a wide range of residential applications—from new construction and modernization projects to the replacement of existing ground source heat pumps. With heating outputs from 6 to 16 kW, the new Vitocal 300-G intelligent energy offers a flexible solution for a variety of building and customer requirements. Year-round efficiency and quiet operation

For system owners, the Vitocal 300-G intelligent energy combines high efficiency with a high level of comfort. By harnessing geothermal energy, ground source heat pumps benefit from a stable heat source temperature throughout the year. Combined with the latest inverter technology, the Vitocal 300-G intelligent energy achieves an A+++ energy efficiency rating, seasonal space heating energy efficiency of up to 212 percent, and a SCOP of up to 5.5 in low-temperature applications. A maximum supply temperature of 70 degrees Celsius broadens its range of applications, particularly in modernization projects. The innovative sound insulation design enables quiet operation: The 6 kW model achieves an ErP sound power level of 34 dB(A).

Control platform for intelligent connectivity

The new Viessmann One Base Intelligence control platform gives the Vitocal 300-G intelligent energy built-in readiness for the future and enables intelligent connectivity across all system components. It reduces complexity in planning, commissioning, and service. ViGuide enables systems to be commissioned, monitored remotely, and diagnosed remotely when needed. This supports efficient service during ongoing operation and simplifies support for installed systems. As an open system, One Base Intelligence enables the integration of third-party products for the first time, allowing them to be controlled by Viessmann Energy Management. This makes the Vitocal 300-G intelligent energy suitable both for new complete systems and for the gradual expansion of existing installations.

The ViCare app allows system owners to adjust room and domestic hot water temperatures and view energy consumption, system status, and energy flows. Integrated Viessmann Energy Management automatically coordinates electricity, heating, and electric mobility, takes weather forecasts into account, and enables the use of dynamic electricity rates. This delivers tangible benefits for system owners: efficient heating, optional cooling, and intelligent use of self-generated energy or energy purchased when rates are low—all within a coordinated system solution.

Comfortable cooling: Natural Cooling

The Vitocal 300-G intelligent energy is available with optional factory-integrated Natural Cooling components. These use the ground’s cool temperatures to help lower living space temperatures by up to three degrees on hot summer days.

Up to four heat pumps with just one Universal Controller

The Vitocal 300-G intelligent energy can be used as a standalone solution or in a cascade configuration with up to four floor-standing units. Only one Universal Controller is required for the entire cascade. This reduces the number of components needed, along with space requirements, installation effort, and capital costs. System outputs of up to 64 kW are possible with this configuration. This makes the system suitable for larger residential buildings as well as single-family homes. When replacing an existing ground source heat pump, an existing geothermal borehole can continue to be used. The Vitocal 300-G intelligent energy also supports the connection of PVT collectors. These can serve as an alternative heat source while also generating electricity for the household. This is particularly relevant where geothermal drilling is not possible, is too complex, or is not economically viable.

Compact footprint and easy servicing

With a footprint of just 0.5 square meters, the floor-standing heat pump is also suitable for installations where space is limited. The heat pump module can be removed using plug-in couplings and electrical connectors, simplifying installation and servicing.

Flexible configuration options

The Vitocal 300-G intelligent energy can be combined with various indoor units and controller options, including Universal Controller, IDU Modular, and IDU Comfort. Flexible connection kits and air duct systems support a range of installation configurations and make it easier to accommodate project-specific requirements.
