Viessmann Climate Solutions and E.ON cooperate
Viessmann Climate Solutions and E.ON Germany will be collaborating in the future to further integrate smart energy solutions for the household. Viessmann heat pumps, solar inverters, battery storage systems, and wallboxes can now also be combined with the E.ON Home Energy Management System (HEMS).
Munich/Allendorf (Eder), Germany, May 21, 2026 – Viessmann Climate Solutions and E.ON Germany will be joining forces in future to further integrate smart energy solutions for the home: The manufacturer of energy and climate solutions is now offering its installation partners heat pumps, photovoltaic systems, battery storage units, and wallboxes – including in combination with the home energy management system (HEMS) from energy provider E.ON. Viessmann Climate Solutions is part of Carrier Global Corporation (NYSE: CARR), global leader in intelligent climate and energy solutions.
The E.ON Home Energy Manager intelligently and flexibly optimizes the energy consumption of compatible energy solutions. Viessmann installer partners can use it to expand the existing Viessmann HEMS portfolio in a targeted manner. At the same time, participating contractors benefit financially through the E.ON Home Partner Program***.
“Together with our partner Viessmann Climate Solutions, the craftsmen and homeowners, we are driving the energy transition forward with flexibility: We want to jointly unlock the flexibility potential of residential solar storage systems, heat pumps, and electric vehicles. This enhances the efficiency of the energy system and benefits both – installation companies and customers financially,” says Martin Endress, CCO at E.ON Energie Deutschland.
Dr. Conrad Wiedeler, Managing Director of Viessmann Deutschland GmbH, adds: “The partnership with E.ON enables our installer partners to offer their residential customers the Viessmann product portfolio in combination with the E.ON HEMS, E.ON Home Comfort, and the appropriate tariff rates. This allows our installer partners to respond even more flexibly to the needs of end customers.”
E.ON HEMS benefits for end customers
The E.ON Home Energy Manager meets the requirements of § 14a of the German Energy Industry Act (EnWG) and § 9 of the Renewable Energy Act (EEG). The system is compatible with a wide range of solar systems, battery storage units, heat pumps, and electric vehicle wallboxes from various manufacturers. Many existing systems can also be integrated. With E.ON HEMS, installation companies can easily meet legal requirements while also fulfilling individual customer requests. Additionally, the system is conveniently controlled via a web application. As part of E.ON HomeComfort, customers also receive a smart metering system (iMSys) installed free of charge.
The E.ON Home Energy Manager can also be combined with fixed-rate tariff options and dynamic electricity rates from any energy provider. If customers choose one of E.ON’s many fixed-rate tariff options**** or already use one, they can reduce their electricity costs risk-free through flexible energy usage with the smart add-on service E.ON Home Comfort.
With E.ON HEMS combined with E.ON Home Comfort, a four-person household can save up to 990 euros**
E.ON Home Comfort is a smart add-on service for security-conscious, flexible electricity customers that can be added to many E.ON fixed-rate tariff plans****. Under the terms of the contract, customers can automatically and specifically charge solar storage systems, heat pumps, and/or electric vehicles with grid power – especially during periods of low demand, such as at night – and earn various bonuses in the process. Thanks to HEMS, there is no loss of comfort: The electric vehicle is charged by the desired departure time in the morning, and solar storage systems and heat pumps are optimally supplied with energy for daily use. With E.ON Home Comfort, a family of four can reduce their electricity bill by up to 990 euros, thanks to optimized self-consumption of PV-generated power and bonuses.**
Viessmann specialist partners benefit from the E.ON Home Partner Program
Viessmann specialist partners who participate in the E.ON Home Partner Program receive a payment of 20 euros per installed E.ON HEMS, as well as an additional 100 euros per completed E.ON Home Comfort service contract***.
As part of the partnership, Viessmann Climate Solutions has been added to the "E.ON Heat Pump Finder" as a manufacturer. If a customer requests a quote for a Viessmann heat pump (e.g., the Vitocal 250-A* air-to-water heat pump, which was once again named the top pick by Stiftung Warentest in 2025 with an overall rating of “GOOD (2.0)”), a regional Viessmann installer partner is assigned to provide the quote, install the unit, and commission it. The Viessmann Climate Solutions hardware is combined with E.ON’s energy management system and professionally set up at the end customer’s location.
In the future, Viessmann customers will be able to benefit even more easily and conveniently from E.ON’s smart and flexible electricity products; the partners are continuously working on further joint solutions designed to achieve this goal.

*In the 10/2025 publication, the Vitocal 250-A air-to-water heat pump with a rated heating capacity of 10 kW (model AWO-E AC 251.A10) was once again named the test winner by Stiftung Warentest. It outperformed four other models from different manufacturers in the test and received a quality rating of “GOOD (2.0).”
** Maximum savings consist of Comfort and connection bonuses of up to €420 per year (bonuses apply for 24 months following the initial connection of the energy solutions to the E.ON Home Box), savings from optimized solar power usage, and a flat-rate reduction in grid usage fees if the requirements under Section 14a of the German Energy Industry Act (EnWG) are met. Calculation/Methodology: In the calculation for cost reduction with E.ON Home Comfort, the E.ON Home Energy Manager (acquisition cost in conjunction with the new E.ON Home Comfort: 1 euro) optimizes solar power usage and feed-in from an average-sized 10 kWp solar system and defers grid power consumption by the 7.7 kWh solar storage unit, the 5 kW heat pump, and the electric car with a 70 kWh battery to times of lower electricity demand. The feed-in tariff for the solar system is 7.86 cents/kWh. The annual mileage corresponds to the average annual mileage of a passenger car in Germany, as reported by the Federal Motor Transport Authority (12,309 km). The electric car is on the road all day, three days a week (8 a.m. to 6 p.m.). For annual household electricity consumption (excluding energy consumption from the electric car, heat pump, and battery storage charging), approximately 3,600 kWh was assumed for a three-person household and 4,000 kWh for a four-person household in a single-family home with energy efficiency class B and a living area of 150 square meters. In both the three-person and four-person households, one person works from home, while the second works from home two days a week and in the office three days a week. In addition, there are one and two school-age children, respectively. For the fixed-price electricity rate, 32 cents per kWh is assumed as an example. To qualify for the full bonuses, the energy solutions must be compatible with the E.ON Home Box; the Smart Mode in the E.ON Home App must be used to meet the bonus conditions for each energy solution; a smart meter is required to shift consumption to optimize grid utilization; and an E.ON electricity tariff must be in place. In addition to the wallbox being compatible with the E.ON Home Box, the E-Auto Comfort Bonus can also be obtained if the electric vehicle is directly compatible with the E.ON Home App.
*** An installed E.ON Home Energy Manager earns one point—and each point is worth 20 euros. If the customer also signs up for E.ON HomeComfort in conjunction with one of E.ON’s many fixed-rate plans*, the installation company receives an additional 100 euros (= five points).
**** Most E.ON electricity plans can be combined with E.ON Home Comfort, with the following exceptions: heating electricity plans, basic service, emergency service, dynamic plans, and E.ON Home & Drive plans.
