With the Vitocal 200-A intelligent energy (ie), Viessmann Climate Solutions is presenting a new era in monoblock air-to-water heat pumps. At the same time, the company is launching One Base Intelligence, an upgrade to the Viessmann One Base platform that intelligently connects products, energy flows, and extensions.
Allendorf (Eder), Germany, May 26, 2026 – Even before its official presented, it was already making waves in the industry as a “masked heat pump”: With the Vitocal 200-A intelligent energy (ie), Viessmann Climate Solutions is now unveiling a new era for its monoblock air-to-water heat pump. At the same time, the company is launching One Base Intelligence, an advancement of the Viessmann One Base platform that intelligently connects products, energy flows, and extensions. With this new era, Viessmann Climate Solutions is further developing its clear systems approach, simplifying installation for installers, streamlining processes, and enabling scalability. The focus is on consistent further development in line with the needs of end customers and the practical requirements of the HVAC trade. With the newly developed Vitocal 200-A intelligent energy, Viessmann Climate Solutions now covers all market segments—from entry-level and mid-range to the premium segment with the Vitocal 250-A heat pump (model AWO-E AC 251.A1), which was awarded the Stiftung Warentest test winner title. And all this without compromising on quality or system integration.
Developed and manufactured in Europe, the Vitocal 200-A intelligent energy achieves flow temperatures of up to 75 °C, making it suitable even for existing radiators. With an output range of 4 to 12 kW, it covers typical applications in single-family and two-family homes. The natural refrigerant R290 and high efficiency ratings underscore the focus on sustainable operation combined with balanced cost-effectiveness. It also impresses on the construction site: The new generation of units is designed for convenient handling, reduced complexity, and easy transport. The outdoor units fit on a Euro pallet and weigh only about 100 kg. Configured indoor units in various versions simplify planning and installation. Key hydraulic components are now integrated into the outdoor unit, further reducing installation effort.
The “Universal Controller intelligent energy” complements the existing range of indoor units: It can be used either as a heat pump controller for the Vitocal 200-A intelligent energy with flexible on-site hydraulic connections, or independently of the heat pump as a control component for Viessmann Energy Management, for example to integrate a third-party photovoltaic system.
The new generation also stands out in terms of design: the Vitocal 200-A intelligent energy air-to-water heat pump has already been honored with the prestigious iF Design Award. Its sleek design and elegant, enclosed grille blend discreetly into any architectural setting, concealing the technical components and the noise-optimized fan.
