- What's important to me
-
Sustainability, especially in the food industry. I like regional and seasonal products, preferably what I grow myself in my own garden, and I try to avoid packaging waste as much as possible and buy unpackaged goods.
I am delighted that Viessmann continues to have confidence in me – despite the many competitions I’ve missed in recent years due to injury – and will provide me with the best possible support on my journey.
Career
At the age of ten, Marina starts biathlon training in the biathlon center in Dornstadt. In 2013, she switches to the sports boarding school in Furtwangen and three years later, after graduating from high school, she takes part in Junior World Cup for the first time – in Cheile Gradistei. In the same year, she gets her first entries in the IBU Junior Cup and starts at the European Junior Cup. In the 2017/18 season, Marina wins her first IBU Junior Cup. After a long injury break Marina wants to get back at full speed this season.
The earlier, the better
Marina becomes world champion and secures the bronze medal in pursuit at the 2016 Junior World Championships in Cheile Grădiștei.
Winning streak continues: IBU Junior Cup victory
This season, Marina claims her first victory in the IBU Junior Cup and secures multiple podium finishes.
Setback: seasons dominated by injuries and illness
After aging out of the junior level, Marina experiences an unfortunate series of setbacks resulting from multiple injuries and illnesses and cannot compete internationally in the 2018/19 and 2019/20 seasons.
The Corona pandemic and injuries complicate the way back
Due to many pandemic-related competition cancellations at the beginning of the 2020/21 season, Marina can only prove herself in training and misses the jump into the IBU Cup. Also in the course of the season no competitions take place because of Corona. In the following season, Marina continues to be pursued by bad luck and is unable to take part in any competition due to injury.
